Rapla

Overview

We will guide you on this page the installation process of RAPLA. We will also be specific of the requirements to successfully run this program in your environment. This would include but not limited to the following: latest Java version of your Operating System, how to get the RAPLA downloadable file to install, and the login credentials.


NOTE

  • You will require access to download a copy of the the RAPLA application launcher, or the JNLP (Java Network Launch Protocol) file customised for your business or institution’s requirements. This file may be obtained from your Nominated Contact Person or Paradigm Administrator, or by raising a request for support via the Help Desk portal.

  • If you are the Nominated Contact Person or Paradigm Administrator in your business or institution, please raise a request via the Help Desk portal or talk to one of our Support Team to discuss your RAPLA requirements and get a copy of your RAPLA file and login credentials.

  • If you are one of the administrators of Paradigm in your business or institution and would like to use or install RAPLA, please contact your Nominated Contact Person or Paradigm Administrator.

Installation Requirement

RAPLA is supported by the Java Runtime environment. Please browse and download the latest version of Java to suit your version of the operating system. Please refer to https://www.java.com/en/download/ for further instructions. Consult your local IT representative Representative if you encounter any issues during the installation process.

  • After you enter the URL in your web browser, the below web page will appear:

    1. The first button [Start Rapla with Java webstart] will initiate a download of your Rapla.

    2. The second button [Start Rapla with Java Plugin] is not useful any more as standard modern web browsers whether don’t support Java browser plugin by default or refuse to support it at all.

    3. The third [Server Status] button allows you to check if the server is running correctly.

    4. The fourth [Exported Calendars] is very useful. It lists all the published web calendars configured under your username.

  • Click on the first button, there will be pop up message on the left bottom.

  • Click on Keep button will initiate to download your Rapla.

  • Wait until your Rapla finishes download, and click on the JNLP file.

  • Once you completed the above steps, it will initiate Rapla login window to pop up:

  • Installation

    1. Download the JNLP file to your computer.

    2. After the download, go to the Downloads folder in your computer(if your download directory or folder destination has been customised or changed, navigate to where the JNLP file has been saved).

    INFO: The filename would usually be your business or institution’s name with a file extension of .jnlp (as shown in the sample screenshot below, using Windows).

    3. Double click the file, and wait for the RAPLA login window to appear.

     4. Enter your Username and Password and click

    on

    the Login button.

    If you receive any Application Error message, you might need to add a specific URL to the security exception site list in your Java settings.

    Follow the instructions from this link: https://java.com/en/download/help/jcp_security.xml.

    Note the address you should add is http not https.

    NOTE

    Your Nominated Contact Person or Paradigm Administrator would normally be the first person to be given the login credentials by us. If you are not your business or institution’s nominated contact person, please contact your Nominated Contact Person or Paradigm Administrator for your login credentials.

    5. Once you are logged in, your default RAPLA environment will open (see sample RAPLA below).
