How to record contribution-exempt students

A student with a contribution-exempt Status Code (E490) are those with values coded as 260, 261, 262, 270, 271, 331, 341, see https://www.tcsisupport.gov.au/element/490 for more details. They are students who are contribution-exempt, non-overseas tuition fee-exempt, or Research Training Program (RTP) students.

Paradigm reports a 0.00 amount to these fields: Unit Fee (E384), Upfront Payment (E381), HEIMS Loan Fee (E529), and Funding Amount (E558) for all EXEMPT (E490) students with no HELP loan. Else, the Funding Amount (E558) is calculated by the Unit Fee (E384) amount – (minus) Upfront Payment (E381) amount.

How Students with EXEMPT (E490) Student Status Codes are coded in Paradigm

1. If a student is any of these status codes: 260, 261, 262, 270, 271, 331, 341, as coded in their unit enrolment HEIMS INFORMATION section, under the Student status code field, refer to the next step on how Paradigm has coded and reported the student’s financial information.
