Tabs in the Paradigm System are the main options within the side menu. 

The System Tab and Editing of Tab options is normally reserved for your higher end or power users. Within this section of the system changes to the actual system can be made.

Objective

Reading this article will give you an understanding of how to find and change settings for the tabs that can be seen in the main side menu of the Paradigm system.

Assumptions

  • You have the level of access required to access the system tab.
  • You have an understanding that making changes within this section has function can have system wide implications.
  • An You have an understanding of the various permission levels within your institution and what each level needs to have access to to the access levels that staff need in order to complete their duties.

Tabs listed in the side menu of the Paradigm System are the links to the main options of the system.

StudentStudent Contains options related to student data including Course enrolments course and Unit enrolments are held within this section of the system
ProvidersInstitutional details are stored within this section.
CoursesDetails of all Courses unit enrolments
ProvidersContains options related to institutional providers
CoursesContains options for all courses offered by your institution are recorded in this section
UnitsAll Units data including Parent units and Scheduled UnitsContactDetails Contains options for details related to all units, including parent units and scheduled units
ContactsContains options for all non-student users who have access to the system
ReportsVarious Contains options for all the various reports to provide data on all sections of the system, including the report builder where custom reports can be created
SystemThe System tab is where Contains options to configure various parts of the Paradigm system can be updated, by updating, or turned turning features on or off depending on the various needs to of your institution.
AccountingAll Contains options for all financial transactions can recorded for students payments etc including invoicing , and payments etc.
AgentsIf Contains options for your institution if it uses agent agents to recruit students data for agreements, applicationapplications, and payments.

The System Tab and Editing of Tab options is normally reserved for power users and those with highest level system access, because changes made here have a system wide impact on the functions available from the side menu.

If a Tab is  is set as hidden for particular security level, all of the sub pages are included with it. e.g. if the Units Tab is hidden for Staff Security Level then the Search, Search Scheduled Units, Unit Details, Scheduled Unit Details and Unit Fee Details Pages are all not available to those users. Please ensure that any changes or updates are carefully thought through all of the implication prior to actioningwithin that tab are also hidden for all users who have that security level.

Workflow

How to Search for Tabs (Side Menu Main options)

  1. Click on the system System tab within the side menu
  2. Click on the Tab Tabs Edit option with in the Side Menu
  3. Select the Permission level to be edited (See list above)
  4. Click on the Search Tabs Buttonbutton. Image Added
  5. This will return a list of all Tabs that meet the searched criteria
  6. To reduce filter the returned options in this box Image Removedshown in the list, use the search box Image Added above the returned results list, to start typing the name of the required tab. This will reduce the number of results. 
  7. Click on the blue hyper link hyperlink on the left side of the required record., or click on the pencil icon Image Added at the right side of the required record


How to Edit a Tab option (Side Menu Main options)

  1. Click on the system tab within the side menu
  2. Click on the Tab Edit option with in the Side Menu
  3. Select the Permission level to be edited (See list above)
  4. Click on the Search Tabs Button
  5. This will return a list of all Tabs that meet the searched criteria
  6. To reduce the returned options in this box Image Removed above the returned results start typing the name of the required tab. This will reduce the number of results. 
  7. Click on the blue hyper link on the left side of the required record.
  8. Click on the pencil icon Image Removednext to the option to be edited
  9. Follow the steps in the How to Search for Tabs section described above.
  10. Update the fields to be edited (Please note: Only label, Order number and Visibility can be edited)
  11. Click on the Save Tab ButtonbuttonImage Added
