Objective
Upon completion of this KB the user will be able to create Session / Edit Sessions and enrol Students into session
Assumptions
- User has knowledge on how to create a base unit
- An understanding of time periods / time period creation
- A base unit is required for a scheduled to be created in Paradigm
- User has administrator level access to create scheduled unit

Workflow
How to add session(s) to a Scheduled Unit
If a Unit has already been scheduled load the required Schedule and skip down to step 110
- Click on the Units tab in the side menu
- Click on the Search option in the side menu
- Search for the base unit by either unit code or unit name Unit Code or Unit Name. Unit provider can be selected to reduce the list of options.
- Click on the Search unit Unit button.
- If More more than one unit meets the search criteria a list of units will appear on the screen. Click on the blue hyperlink on the left hand side of the required unit.
- Once the required unit has been loaded click on the Scheduled Unit Details in the side menu
- Click on the Add Scheduled in the side menu
- Enter the required information in to the fields ensuring some minimum field requirements (Start Date, End Date and HEIMS Census Date and Status set to Active) Additional information recommended however these fields are required to create a basic functioning Scheduled unit.
- Click on the Save Scheduled Unit button.
- Scroll down to the Sessions associated with this unit section and click the New Session Button button
Enter the type of session, Session class and Session group. (But do not exceed 11 character)
Enter the session subject - what topic is to be covered in this session.
Enter location, building and room information
Select the Teacher from the contact drop down box
Select the day of the week from the drop down box
Select the start date from the date picker
Enter the class commencement time
Enter the class conclusion time
Enter note. This can be a summary of what is to be covered in this particular session.
Enter the minimum number of students required to proceed with this session
Enter the maximum number of students allowable in the session e.g. how many can the room hold allowing for fire evacuation guidelines, for how many does the lecture theatre hold.
Select the session provider, important if there is more than one/.
Enter how often the session should reoccur (daily, weekly etc) and for how many times.
Click on the Save Session button.
How to Delete Sessions
- Click On the Units tab in the side menu.
- Click on the Search Scheduled units option in the side menu
- Enter any combination of Unit Code, Unit Name, Unit Provider, Start Date, End Date (Paradigm requires at least one search criteria)
- Click on the Search Scheduled Unit Button.
- This will return a list of units that meet the searched criteria
- To reduce filter the returned options start typing the name of the unit into this box The returned results will reduce to match the criteria.
- Click on the blue hyper link on the left side of the required record.
- The Scheduled Unit has now been loaded.
- Scroll Down to the Sessions associated with this unit section
- Click on the Deleted all Sessions ButtonSessions button
