Objective
Upon completion of this kb the user will be able to obtain and verify a students USI.
For Senior Administrators - How to renew the AusKey certificate
Assumptions
- The User has the minimum required level to edit a record.
- The student record has already been created.
- An understanding of Australian Tertiary Sector / VET Sector
- Paradigm has been connected via API to the Governments USI database
- The User has the required identification / Certificates from the student to be sufficiently identified.
These include:
* Australian Birth Certificate
* Certificate of Registration by Descent
* Australian Citizenship Certificate
* Australian Drivers Licence
* Medicare Care
* Australian Passsport
* Visa (with non Australian Passport)
* ImmiCard - For Auskey Renewal - The Device Custodian (as nominated by your RTO) required a Username and Login for the ABR Auskey Manager

Overview
Once a student has been issued with a USI, it remains with them for life, and the same USI can never be issued to any other person. If a student provides a USI then you must verify that it is both complete and genuine. This knowledge article will guide you on how to verify USI provided by students within Paradigm.

How to Renew AusKey Certificate
To Obtain a new AusKey certificate an application needs to be made online through the AusKey manager - https://abr.gov.au/AUSkey/ by the AusKey Device Custodian (requiring the Username and Valid Password). The Device Custodian submits the application and the system generates a reference number and an email is sent to the Device Custodian. The Device custodian is them prompted to download the new certificate and sorting it in the required manner safeguarding the certificate. Once the new certificate has been obtained please contact the Paradigm help desk to arrange secure transfer of the certificate for linking into the system.
