Overview

A unit is a term used interchangeably with module, subject, unit of study or competency which describes the learning outcomes and accreditation information for units that form one or more courses. A unit becomes a scheduled unit when it is offered with all the details on how it is offered, dates, delivery mode, location, etc. This page will provide you the links of all the associated knowledge articles under the Units Menu in Paradigm, and below the links are some brief overview of each sub-menu.

  • The term ‘Unit’ that is used within Paradigm, can be used interchangeably with Module, Subject, Unit of Study or Unit of Competency.

  • Users need to understand the difference between Base Units and Scheduled Units.

  • Students need to be enrolled into a Course (of Study) before they can enrol into units.

  • Fees need to be added either to the scheduled unit or to the fees matrix before enrolling students into Scheduled Units.

  • You have an understanding of the Units and Courses within your institution including course structure, prerequisites, co-requisites, exclusions and timetabling.
