Overview

The Assessments sub-menu under the Student main menu in Paradigm will show you the student course academic progress, will let you edit assessments results, will let you edit unit results (all students enrolled to the scheduled unit), and will also upload student's assessment files or projects in the system. This knowledge article will provide you the workflow on how to edit, delete, auto update the grade assessments results per student, and edit unit results to all other students enrolled to the same scheduled unit and assessments.

STUDENT COURSE ACADEMIC PROGRESS FOR BITS Section

This section will provide you with an overall summary of the academic progress of the student. This contains all the credit points granted, earned, enrolled, the student’s GPA, weighted GPA, and the total credit points. This way, it would be easier for you to track as to how the student is progressing with his or her studies.

UNIT ENROLLED BY STUDENT Section

This section contains all the units enrolled by a student with all the fine details of the start date, the current status of the enrolment, contact mode, class number, the number of assessment results and scheduled assessments, current-average-projected unit mark, projected unit grade, entered unit mark, and the entered unit grade. Each unit enrolment record has also an ACTIONS button to let you edit and upload assessments related to the unit.

EDIT ASSESSMENTS RESULTS Section

This section is where you can edit the raw mark, awarded mark, awarded grade, and status – any changes you will make on this section will also give you an option to auto update the grade, and to increase the efficiency of the process, you can also just copy the raw mark to the awarded mark and auto update the grade . You also have the option to edit the fine details of the assessment (where you can see the original awarded mark or grade if there are any), and delete the assessment whenever it’s no longer applicable to the scheduled unit of the student.

The EDIT UNIT RESULTS Button

This button will let you view all the units associated with the scheduled assessments in all the courses (if the student happen to be enrolled in another course) the student has been enrolled to, and all other students who are enrolled to the same scheduled unit. You can update the grade description, enrolment status, and the Dest Enrolment Status, etc. You can even publish results from here. Refer to the screenshot below to see all the possible features you can do with the EDIT UNIT RESULTS button.

The appearance (fields and buttons) of the student-summary-assessments screen is highly customisable on a per site basis. The contents of this article refer to what is typically used in a standard deployment of Paradigm.

INFO: The pages, fields and buttons that you can see, and the items you can edit, are based on:

  • How the Paradigm system is configured for your institution;

  • The options that are made available by your institution; and

  • The access level assigned to you by the "nominated contact person" or other Paradigm Expert, according to your permission needs.

For more information please contact your "nominated contact person" or other Paradigm Expert.

NOTE

When running an Assessment Results Report in Paradigm, please take note, that the assessment results section would only allow in between 1 to 6 assessments per scheduled unit, exceeding this count will cause the template to fail.

As an alternative, you can use the base report named “Scheduled Assessment View Details” to help you extract a list of assessments from Paradigm. For more information on our Report Builder Menu, refer to this article: Report Builder.

Search for and load the student record.

Verify and confirm that the loaded course enrolment is the correct one.

Choose Student > Course Enrolment > Assessments menus on the side.

Identify the scheduled unit containing the assessment results that you want to edit.

Click the ACTIONS button on the right of that scheduled unit, and then click Edit Assessments.

Scroll down the page and go to the EDIT ASSESSMENTS RESULTS Form section. Identify the assessment(s) records that you want to edit. You can edit the Raw Mark, Awarded Mark, Awarded Grade, and the Status fields and then click the SAVE RESULT button. Three Types of Save Button:

SAVE RESULT – this button will just save the marks you’ve entered or edited.

COPY RAW MARK TO AWARDED MARK AND AUTO UPDATE GRADE – this button will let you enter the marks once under the Raw Mark column, and it will automatically copy the information to the Awarded Mark, and at the same time update the grade.

SAVE RESULT/AUTO UPDATE GRADE– this button will let you save the marks you’ve entered or edited and at the same time update the grade.

Click the 📝EDIT button on the right of the assessment record to be edited.

The 📝EDIT button will open the scheduled assessments result details form with all the editable fields. (This will also show you the Original Awarded Mark and Grade if there were entered.)

Refer to the editable fields below that you can possibly edit. Edit the required information, and click the SAVE RESULT button to apply the changes.

To see all other scheduled unit enrolments associated to the scheduled assessments that you’ve searched, click the EDIT UNIT RESULTS button.

The EDIT UNIT RESULTS button will open the EDIT STUDENT RESULTS Form page where you can edit the Grade Description, System and Dest Enrolment Status, Result Comments, and also use the following action buttons relating to the assessment results of all the students enrolled to the scheduled unit: recalculate results from assessments, unpublish results, calculate and save results from assessments, save results and set enrolment status from grade, save results and assign grades, save results, print assessment results, edit class assessment results, and publish results.

You can also enter the Grade Release Date from this page.
