Overview

If you have existing Course Outlines with almost or exactly the same scheduled units and outline rules as the Course Outline that you are about to make, then this Paradigm feature will address that concern, saving you time to create Course Outlines from scratch. The workflow below will guide you on how to copy the outline rules you’ve set from your previous courses and copy them to your newly offered or other courses in the system. It is highly advised that you will still do due diligence – making sure that all the scheduled units and rules apply to your newly created Course Outline.

How to Copy Outline Rules Between Base Courses NOTE: The instructions below assume that the Base Course record where the outline rules are to be copied has already been created and is already being scheduled or offered, see Add New Course Offer. Status colour Blue title STEP 1 Load the Base Course Record with the Outline Rules that you want to copy. In the example below, we want to copy the outline rules from your BAAcc (Bachelor of Accounting)course to the newly offered course which is the BBis (Bachelor of Business). In this case, we will load the BAAcc (Bachelor of Accounting) course. Status colour Green title 1 Refer to the instructions on this link on how to load a course record: https://silverband.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PKB/pages/985094/Courses+-+Search+Add+and+Edit#01.-How-to-search-for-a-Course-Record. Status colour Green title 2 Once the Base Course record is loaded, choose Courses > Outline menus on the side. This will open the COURSE OUTLINE page. Image Modified Status colour Green title 3 Select all the applicable rules or scheduled units from that course that you want to copy, and check the top-most checkbox ☑ if you want to copy all (as shown in the screenshot above) Status colour Green title 4 After selecting the outline rules that you want to copy, scroll down and click the Copy Selected Constraints to the following Course dropdown menu. Select the course where you want the outline rules to be copied. e.g. you want to copy the outline rules from your BAAcc (Bachelor of Accounting)course to your newly offered course which is the BBis (Bachelor of Business). In this case, BBis (Bachelor of Business) is selected. Image Modified Status colour Green title 5 With the Course where the outline rules are to be copied selected, click the COPY SELECTED CONSTRAINTS button. that statuses

of the status of your action. Image Modified Status colour Blue title STEP 2 Load the Course record where the course outlines are copied to. Following the same scenario as above, we’ll load the BBis (Bachelor of Business) course. Status colour Green title 7 Check if the outline rules are now copied to the Base Course (e.g. BBis) that you want them copied. Follow the same instructions as above on how to search and load the COURSE OUTLINE page of a Base Course record. Image Modified Info In the above screenshot, the BBis Course has now all the outline rules that were copied from the BAAcc Course. You can now review, check, verify, edit, add more constraints, and delete constraints – as you see fit for this Course Record. back to top
