Overview


Objective

Upon completion of this KB the user will be able to search for base units within paradigm

Assumptions

  • The User has the minimum required level to access the Units tab and an understanding that making changes within this section has system wide implications.
  • The user has an understanding of the Australian Tertiary Education System / VET Sector.

Unit ProviderThe provider / Institution the unit will be offered by
Unit KeywordsKey words / or buzz words that relate to the unit. These can be use when trying to find a unit when you don't know the exact name

  • Active
  • Archived

  • Unit Codes
  • Unit Names
  • Provider Id

Implications

In order for a student to be enrolled into a unit the units / subject needs to be created as a base unit, then the units is Schedule giving it specific time period for delivery, census date, and venue. Once these have be done then the student can be enrolled.


Workflow

How to search for a Base unit

  1. Click on the Units tab in the Side menu
  2. Click on the Search option with the side menu
  3. Enter any combination of Unit Code, Unit Name, Unit Provider or Unit Keywords, unit status (Paradigm requires at least one search criteria)
  4. Click on the Search Unit Button.
  5. This will return a list of units that meet the searched criteria
  6. To reduce the returned options start typing the name of the unit into this box  The returned results will reduce to match the criteria.
  7. Click on the blue hyper link on the left side of the required record.
  8. The Base Unit has now been loaded.
