Unit of Study Status Code (E355) is not consistent with the Course Outcome Code (E599).

TCSI Error Description

Please check the Unit of Study Status Code (E355) and the Course Outcome Code (E599) for the linked course admission record (UID15). The Course Outcome Code (E599) indicates that the student is no longer enrolled in the course. Therefore, it is not possible to create a new Unit of Study Status Code (E355) that indicates the student has a unit of study still in progress ('4') for that course.

Error Logic

If a Unit Enrolment (UID16) record is being created with a linked Course Admission Resource Key (UID15) that has a Course Outcome Code (E599) of '1', '2', '3', '5', '6', or '7', then the Unit Enrolment record being created must not have a Unit of Study Status Code (E355) of '4'.

Paradigm Error Resolution

This error represents that from the government perspective, there are one or more Unit of Study Status Code values that contradict the value being reported for Course Enrolment Status.

The most likely scenario to encounter this error is when a Course Enrolment Status has already been reported with a E599 Course Enrolment Status value, and then someone attempts to update a unit enrolment record to change the E355 value. The order of events is significant. This validation rule essentially enforces the business requirement that all TCSI reportable unit enrolment records must have an academic outcome (E355) submitted to TCSI prior to the course enrolment outcome (E599) being reported to TCSI. In this context, the reported value for E355 must be anything other than “4 - Unit of study to be commenced later in the year or still in process of completing or completion status not yet determined”.

To resolve this error, you need to (1.) set the course enrolment status from ‘Completed’ back to ‘Enrolled’ and then click on the Save button. Next, (2.) check each unit enrolment record linked to the course enrolment and ensure that the appropriate E355 value has been reported. Remember that E355 is linked to the student unit enrolment status field. Correcting the unit enrolment status and clicking the save button will ensure that the value of E355 is updated in TCSI.

Once all TCSI unit enrolment records have been reported with an E355 value, then (3.) return to the Course Enrolment Details screen and update the course enrolment status field back to its earlier value to re-report a value for E599.

This series of actions will ensure all records are appropriately updated and pushed to TCSI.
