Objective

Upon completion of reading this article, the user will have a better understand in regards to the main user interface of Rapla and filtering different views.


Assumptions

  • You have already
  • You have installed Rapla on your computer
  • You have a valid Rapla user account


Users with the admin privileges will see additional configuration folders to the left hand side of the main window.

Snapshot

1. The left hand side of the window shows the Configuration tree(top section) and Conflicted events (bottom section). 


When your mouse highlights in a resource, it will only show the selective calendar view. Take different teaching staff as an example, refer to below 2 different views.

2. Top menu bar gives you the view from left to right: name of the current view, save this calendar, publish a URL calendar, calendar type views, current date of the week, and lastly period (terms).

Save button for the left side of the filter setting (mainly for resources and Person)


Publish URL button, popular option is HTML Publish


Minimise the left side of the configuration tree, so Rapla only displays the main calendar view


Calendar type view allows you to switch between Events, Appointments, Day and Week Resource


Date selection bar allows you to either enter a new date or click on the left or right arrows


Select a particular period you want to display resource planning. i.e. Organisation_2019 Trimester 2




3. Main calendar view


Filters 

There are two filters on Rapla user interface. The left hand side one is to filter the resources, the other side is the filter of each event. 







This filter offers the ability to specify which resources(i.e. teaching staff, campus rooms) from the configuration tree are shown in the main calendar.

It filters through and restrict the view you can view.

Note: the settings can be saved by clicking save button. i.e. You can create a filter based on campus and save it.


This filter offers the ability to turn on/off the events you want to show in the main calendar.

Note: the settings cannot be saved.




How to publish HTML calendar view

  1. Click on icon, which is a publish button.
  2. On the new popup window, tick HTML Publish,

    Show navigation barThis is the option allows students can switch between dates to view the scheduled events

    Tick this option allows the Html view displays the events on this day-
    Only allocation informationTick this option that you will not see details associated to eventsEvent resources still display but not reveal the details

    URL 

    The web link for you to copy and paste into a web browser-
    Save/Cancel

    Always remember to click on Save button, and click on icon again. Otherwise you will see error message like the right hand side.

    Error message if you did not click on save button before paste the URL
