Warning

Changes to the Rapla system configuration should only be made after consulting with the Silverband support team.

Objective

Once you have read this article you will have better understanding about some additional features for advanced Rapla users.

Assumptions

  • You have already installed Rapla
  • You have basic knowledge about Rapla
  • You have a full admin user permission

Key terms and concepts

FolderDescription
UsersRefer to how to create Manage User Accounts this article
Event TypeYou can create new event, i.e. sessions (i.e. tutorials, lectures can integrate to Paradigm)
PeriodsRefer to below workflow in how to add time periods on Rapla
CategoriesContact Silverband if you require customisation and set up

Implications

Two gotchas for Rapla are:
1. Do not change appointments under events for dates where attendance has already been recorded;
2. Do not change Session Seq ID nor Session Group number. If you change the Session Seq ID (aka Session Class) and Session Group number for an event after you have begun enrolling students into specific sessions then you are likely to lose the session enrolments when you re-sync with Paradigm.

Workflow

How to add Time Periods (new semester) on Rapla

  1. Hover your mouse to Periods on the left hand of Configuration section
  2. Right click on Periods, and select New → Periods
  3. A Edit Resource window pops up, enter the Name, start and end date of this time period you want to create, e.g. Organisational name_2019_Trimester X.
  4. Click on Save button.

How to clear active filters

The left hand side filter has the system-wide implication.
