Overview

The Side menu is a subset of the Tabs in the Paradigm System. These pages are the sub-menus within the side menu. 

The System Tab and Side Menu Editing options are normally reserved for your higher end or power users. Within this section of the system changes to the actual system can be made.

Objective

Reading this article will give you an understanding of how to find and change Side Menu settings under each Tab that can be seen in the main side menu of the Paradigm system.

Please ensure that all of the implications of any changes or updates are carefully assessed before making those changes.

The Side Menu options make up each sub-menu within each Tab of the Paradigm System.

The System Tab and Side Menu Editing options are normally reserved for power users and those with highest level system access, because changes made here have a system wide impact on the functions available from the side menu.

If a Tab or a Side Menu option is set as hidden for particular security level, all of the sub pages are included with it e.g. if the Units Details Side menu option is hidden then Add new, Edit Details, Show Scheduled units,Unit Competency Edit Pages are all not available to those users. Please ensure that any changes or updates are carefully thought through all of the implication prior to actioningpages and side menu options within that tab or side menu option are also hidden for all users who have that security level.

How to Search

for Side Menu options

  1. Click on the system System tab within the side menu
  2. Click on the Edit Side Menu option Edit option with in the Side Menu
  3. Select the Permission level to be edited (See list above)
  4. Click on the Search Side Menu Buttonbutton. Image Added
  5. This will return a list of all Side Menu options that meet the searched criteria
  6. To reduce filter the returned options in this box Image Removed above the returned results shown in the list, use the search boImage Added above the results list, to start typing the name of the required Side Menu options. This will reduce the number of results. tab.
  7. Click on the blue hyper link hyperlink on the left side of the required record to load.

How to Edit the Side Menu options

  1. Click on the system tab within the side menu
  2. Click on the Edit Side Menu option with in the Side Menu
  3. Select the Permission level to be edited (See list above)
  4. Click on the Search Side Menu Button
  5. This will return a list of all Side Menu options that meet the searched criteria
  6. To reduce the returned options in this box Image Removed above the returned results start typing the name of the required Side Menu options. This will reduce the number of results. 
  7. Click on the blue hyper link on the left side of the required record to load.
  8. Click on the pencil icon Image Removednext to the option to be edited, or click the pencil icon Image Added at the right side of the required record

How to Edit  Side Menu options

  1. Follow the steps in the How to Search for Side Menu options section described above.
  2. Update the fields to be edited (Please note: Only labelonly Label, Alt Text, Order number No and Visibility can be edited)
  3. Click on the Save Side Menu ButtonbuttonImage Added
  4. The changes will be immediately visible by reloading or refreshing the browser page.
