Workflow

How to synchronise Rapla Sessions to Paradigm

NOTE: The instructions below assume that you have the FULL ADMIN account access level in Paradigm to manage the data synchronisation from Rapla to Paradigm.

1, 2 Log into your Paradigm account. Choose System > Rapla Session Import menus on the side.

This would show you a screen as below:

3 Enter the Semester Start and End Date of the sessions that you want to import.

  • These dates are equivalent to the Time Period (Academic Term) record you created both in Paradigm and Rapla, see Edit Time Period in Paradigm and Create Time Periods in Rapla for more details on how to add time periods on both systems.

  • When it comes to the Paradigm Sessions data entry in Rapla, as mentioned above, in the Appointment details section – all Paradigm Sessions created should be within the Scheduled Unit’s Start Date and End Date fields which are also the same or within also the Time Period (Academic Term) where the scheduled units are created.

NOTE: You can also manually enter the Semester Start and End Dates by editing the date fields directly instead of choosing a particular semester dates from the dropdown.

4 Enter a Session Unit Code (optional) if you only want a specific or ONE unit code to be imported. Leave this field blank if you want ALL the Paradigm Sessions created within the dates of your specified semester start and end dates from step 3 (imported or synced to Paradigm).

As mentioned above, if you will specify a Unit Code on this field, you have to make sure that it matches 100% to the scheduled unit record in Paradigm, read above section for more details.

5 Select a Scheduled Unit Provider that you want to import across from Rapla.

As mentioned above, the Campus field in Rapla should be the same as the Home Institution field in the scheduled units in Paradigm, read above section for more details.

6 Click the UPDATE SESSIONS button.

INFO: You can check in Paradigm if the import was indeed successful by searching for the Scheduled Units and go to the Sessions section.
