Step 6 - [Optional] Unit Selection
Overview
If you allow enrolments to scheduled units via the Course Plan of the Scheduled Course that you offered to the student, the student will have the option on their Student Portal to navigate to the Course Plan menu and enrol into the units you’ve designed/allowed for them to study. This knowledge article will show you the step-by-step guide on enrolling into units via the Student Portal Course Plan menu.
Workflow
1. Depending on how your Course Plan is designed, when a student would want to enrol into units which are required for the Course that they are enrolled into, they will be presented with the following sample Course Plan page with all the allowable (units with no colours, see the LEGEND section) units that they can enrol.
2. The student will have the option to check the Session Times for each allowable scheduled unit that they can enrol before they can click the checkbox to proceed with the enrolment.
3. After selecting all the units that they want to enrol, they can click on the ENROL button to proceed. This will then display all the units selected with other more options.
They can leave a message to the Student Services for each unit enrolment
At this stage, the student will always have the option to go back and change the units by clicking on the CHANGE UNITS button.
Note that for units which have fixed sessions (no class sessions to choose from), they can proceed immediately with clicking the radio button against the unit session class.
For units with two or more possible (available) class sessions/scheduled to choose from, the student will select their preferred class session/schedule by clicking on the SHOW TIMES button.
With the SHOW TIMES button selected, the student will select their preferred class session/schedule, by clicking the checkbox against the session class. Note that for session class which are designed with predefined session combinations (e.g. Lecture + Workshop), see Session Group and Session Class, all the other class sessions will automatically be selected.
4. After selecting the class session that they want for those units with predefined session combination, the student can then now click the radio buttons for all the units, and then click the CHECK CLASS TIMES button. This will check for conflicts.
5. If there are no conflicts found, the student will be presented with the TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT, agree to terms and conditions, and then click the ENROL NOW button.
6. A page with all the details of the unit enrolments that the student has added will be displayed (see sample screenshot below).
