Session 6: Unit Enrolments
Overview
The session focuses on unit enrolments, all the management workflows related, and the key terms and concepts relevant to the government reporting mandate. As we progress along with the session you will be given an opportunity to add a base and scheduled units record in Paradigm and enrol students to the scheduled units you’ve created. We will also equip you with the knowledge and skills to confidently manage unit enrolments record in Paradigm which would include but are not limited to adding, updating, setting payments, grading changes, and using properly the “Select Action to perform on Units” menu for bulk updates or processes.
By the end of this training session, you will learn how to create and manage unit enrolments.
Learning outcomes
Describe and discuss the basics of unit enrolments, and how all the terms and concepts associated with it relate to other data in Paradigm and to the government reporting mandate.
Practice and demonstrate the process of adding a new base and scheduled unit enrolments in Paradigm.
Create records with students enrolled on the newly created unit enrolments.
Manage the unit enrolments record (add, search, update, edit, delete, etc.).
Manage to assess properly the correct action to choose under the “Select Action to perform on Units” menu against the bulk process being asked or required.
1. Units (Student Section)

This section will give you an in-depth discussion of what a unit enrolment is, all the key terms and concepts relevant to this topic, and most importantly – we will introduce you to the Paradigm User Interface (the fields, data, information required to successfully create a record) where you can do all the processes on student unit enrolments. At the end of this section, we will demonstrate the workflows on how to create and maintain unit enrolment records (a review from Session 4: Academic Scheduling), as well as the workflow of creating and maintaining a student record with unit enrolments in Paradigm.

2. Single Unit Enrolment Details

After learning the Unit Enrolment section of Paradigm, we will take you to have a closer look at the fine details of an individual unit enrolment, as each unit has its own record and details. This section focuses on the academic and accounting perspectives of a single unit enrolment. At the end of this section, a very comprehensive how-to guide will be provided which is open for live questions and discussions.

3. Units Edit ( Student Section)

The Unit Edit menu in Paradigm gives you the functionality to edit details in bulk to enrolled units. This section will also emphasise the use of the “Select Action to perform on Units” menu, giving you all the necessary information and implications before using any of the options.
